Mission Statement
The North Downtown Omaha Alliance envisions an inclusive, sustainable, mixed-use, community with comfortable, well maintained space to live, work, create, and recreate. The North Downtown Omaha Alliance will be accessible to and interlinked with the Greater Omaha area while maintaining its distinctiveness and historic character.
Vision Statement
The North Downtown Omaha Alliance will build partnerships and consensus across its broad and diverse constituency to establish common goals and a common voice working together to promote the area's economic and social vitality. We will encourage revitalization through both public and private investment, protect the unique, historic character of the area, improve quality of life, and strengthen the sense of community and pride in our urban neighborhood.
Progress
What we've been up to:- Omaha by Design Place Game – we have just wrapped up an exercise to determine areas for potential development and beautification. We will use these sites and ideas to guide us in our efforts both short term and long term.
- This year we have been awarded grant money from the Mayors Neighborhood grant program for a neighborhood bike rack program and Mutual of Omaha's neighborhood grant program for a streetscape prototype. We will continue to pursue grant money for the neighborhood.
- Neighborhood event in August. This will likely be the first in a series of annuals events.
